Hi, I'm Keith. I'm a novelist, an editor, a dad, and a solo developer, and I built Moondoggle because the writing tools I needed didn't exist.

I spent years bouncing between Scrivener for writing, Word for editing, Evernote for research, Miro for worldbuilding, and ChatGPT for brainstorming. I struggled to keep everything organized, and every AI tool either wanted to write for me or knew nothing about my story.

So I spent my nights and weekends building Moondoggle. (Sorry honey!) I wanted a single app where my manuscript, my research, my storyboard, and my AI assistant all lived together. No more switching windows, no more juggling docs, no more trying to track down that one phrase that was so freaking awesome but now I can't find . . .

But above all, I wanted something that was built on respect. Writing is hard, and it can be lonely, but it is a passion that only a fellow writer can understand. Our words matter, and I wanted to build something that respected the author's vision — and their time — while giving them the tools they need to thrive. I truly believe that AI can help us reach new heights as storytellers, but only if we use it right. And only if it is designed to respect our work.

Why Moondoggle?

Back when NASA was first trying to send humans to the moon, the media started to call the Apollo program a "moondoggle." They thought it would never work. Look at how that turned out!

Writing a novel is kind of similar (except without the life-or-death part). You're shooting for the moon, but it takes hard work and not everyone gets it. That's why I built Moondoggle: to help authors get organized, get focused, and land among the stars.
